The Aurora Borealis

The coronal mass ejection from a massive sunspot group gave most of the United States a taste of the Nothern Lights, normally viewed by fortunate Alaskans, Minnesotans and Canadians.

For three days, the Aurora was visible from the Seattle area, the first day being the best when the X18 ejection hit our magnetosphere. Unfortunately, most of the area was under clouds. I feel pretty lucky to have been able to see and capture it with a camera.

I was also fortunate enough to be featured on KOMO TV. I didn't see the broadcast, but several of my friends did, and I'm still on their web site. If that link doesn't work, I have a local copy.
